we are on a mission to enhance community well-being by offering experiential training in culturally inclusive mental healthcare practices, thereby expanding access to culturally inclusive mental healthcare for all.
Who We Are
We are a internship training program for graduate students studying counseling or social work. Our training focuses on the development of therapist who want to address mental health disparities amongst Black, Queer, and other marginalized communities.
As part of this work, we facilitate a therapy clinic that offers therapy services at a reduced cost. We provide individual, couples, and family therapy led by our Intern Therapists.
The Heart of Our Approach
Recognizing that traditional mental health care often falls short in addressing the diverse needs of Black, Queer, and other marginalized communities, Our Intern Therapists undergo rigorous training. We delve into the structures of oppressive systems and their pervasive impact on individuals' lives. Armed with this knowledge, we offer therapy services that are attuned to the nuances of our clients' cultures and communities, thereby increasing access to affirming care.
Our Vision
Imagine a world where therapy is an affordable, accessible, transformative journey that honors diversity, champions empowerment, and embraces the richness of every individual's lived experiences. Our Therapy Lab envisions this reality and is dedicated to making it a tangible part of the lives we touch.
